Halloween Scrapbook Cards - Part 2

Posted by Vicki at Friday, October 24, 2014 0 comments

Here's is part 2 of my Halloween Card week - easel cards and some haunted houses!

These two easel cards were fun to make! The All Hallows Eve was traditional and the Book of Spells was more interactive with a pull out of spell ingredients - of course I had to add some of my black cats!

The two spooky house cards were made from leftovers, a Tim Hotlz stamp, and some of my favorite witch and pumpkin stamps from the bargain bin. I also used some 3-D kids stickers I had laying around. These were a lot of fun to make - I wish I had more time!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween Scrapbook Paper Cards

Posted by Vicki at Sunday, October 19, 2014 0 comments

I recently had a week off from work and was bound and determined to get my Halloween cards made! It was also an opportunity to use up some scraps I had left and to try some new styles of cards that I had never made.

I love the steampunk papers from Graphic 45, and I had lots of card cutouts left so that' where I started. The steam punk lady was pieced together from 2 4x6 card cutouts, and the inside was made from left over scraps glued together. The stamps were ones I had gotten years ago in a Michaels $1.50 bin - I use them a lot. The same was down with the time piece card also below as a gate-fold.

This weekend you'll get part two - some easel cards I'm really happy with and a few haunted houses. I'll also include a short list of some of the materials used.

Recycled Christmas Wrapping Paper Cards

Posted by Vicki at Friday, September 26, 2014 0 comments

Here is my first Christmas project of the year! These tags and cards were made from clearance wrapping paper and recycled Christmas cards, a few stamps I had, and some plastic snowflakes I bought years ago. I love taking wrapping paper and cards, cutting them apart, and making something new.

The snowman was cut from wrapping paper several times and layered on the tag with foam dots. I love the sheet music card and vintage tree, I got these sometime ago out of the Michaels bargain bin. I hope these get some ideas flowing for the Holidays to re-use and recycle!

London Scrapbook 3-D Card

Posted by Vicki at Friday, September 19, 2014 0 comments

This project came about after seeing a lot of stair-step cards on Pinterest, so it inspired me to try my hand at it. I had just gotten my new stamps from Tim Holtz (London Sights) and a few extras from the Deep Red company. I stamped then embossed them with red embossing powder, and used my water pen and vintage photo to do a little water coloring to accent. I like the dimension of it. It gave me a lot more ideas for 3D cards in the future!

Scraps and Notecard Vintage Garden Mini Album

Posted by Vicki at Saturday, September 13, 2014 0 comments

I wanted to make a quick and pretty book, so I decided to take some of the notecards that you can get at Michaels in the $1.50 bin and try my hand at making a mini photo album with them. It was pretty quick and easy! In making this, I decided I could use a lot of my scraps.

The front has one of the notecards and some left over fairies and roses; I used Tulip Diamond Glitter fabric paint to add the bling - I find using it is a lot cheaper than Stickles, and I can add color to it if I want. I used some pink camo duct tape for the binding. Inside, the waterfall is made from the cards, taping them on either side and mounting them onto an envelope. This makes a pocket! On the back of each one, I used some leftover papers and stamped and embossed them.

The tags were from papers I had from a scrap magazine - sorry, I can't remember which one! The pulls on the tags are made from a Martha Stewart corner punch, then cut out with 1 1/2" circle punch. The tags on the pocket side were all made from pieces I had leftover. The tags open up with paper on both sides, the album will hold about 30 pictures. I really like the way they turned out and think from now on I'll use my scraps from each project this way, that way I won't have a million lying around.

Large Wallet Girls Babyshower Photo Album

Posted by Vicki at Saturday, July 05, 2014 0 comments

This is the second wallet photo album I have made. This one was for a friend's baby girl. I love these kinds of albums for gifts because they always turn out so nice and are very quick, easy, and fun to make! I added a little extra to the gusset so I could add a waterfall to hold more pictures. I was inspired by this Youtuber's great tutorials.

Tri-Fold 'Thinking of You' Shutter Card

Posted by Vicki at Sunday, June 15, 2014 0 comments

This card came about since I wanted to try another new fold - I'm really happy with the way this one turned out!

The Prima Fairy Rhymes A4 Pad papers I used were too pretty! If you like this card and want to give it a try, search Pinterest or Youtube for tutorials. The ones I saw made it with 12x12 papers, but I really wanted to use the papers I had so I adapted it to suit my needs!

As usual, I did some fussy cutting and the 'bling' I used were from Michaels $1.50 craft bins. I used Tim Holtz' Scattered Straw and Tea Dye distress inks for the edges, and as always I used Martha Stuart Score Board, Fiskers Paper Cutter, and Elmers quick dry craft bond glue - I can't do anything without them! I also made the envelope out of scrapbook paper with my We R Memory Keepers (a life saver!).

Card in a Box Project

Posted by Vicki at Sunday, June 01, 2014 0 comments
These came about after I saw all the cute cards on Pinterest! I decided to try my hand at a spring themed card. I played with the size since I wanted a taller card. I made them out of cardstock, covered them in paper, used a few butterfly stamps, and fussy cut a lot of flowers! I couldn't have achieved the look I wanted without Graphic 45's Botanical Tea and Sweet Sentiments sets.

I also used a birthday stamp and a label dye for dimension. These were a lot of fun to make, and the girls I gave them to loved them! I can't wait to make some more. Click for larger images.

Easter Bunny Paper Cards

Posted by Vicki at Sunday, April 20, 2014 0 comments

These cards were a last minute thought. I had found some really cute bunny napkins in one of my drawers along with some Easter stickers I had bought on clearance last year and I had to make something with them! Hopefully I can get back into the craft room before the Easter spirit leaves me and make use of the rest of them for next year. The life of a craft hoarder... :)
